Finest Wine Bars in Paris

Published on September 14, 2015 by AHIF Administrator

It is finally September and that can only mean one thing for the French: Grape Harvest Festival. Since 1934, locals and tourists have been part of a big celebration where people indulge in the pleasures of tasting different types of French wine. That’s why we put together a list of the top wine bars in Paris, so you don’t miss out on tasting the best Paris has to offer.

1. Le Baron Rouge

16982

Located in Rue Théophile Roussel, this small wine bar is proven to make tourists feel like true Parisians. They not only have a wide variety of wines from all over France, but they also have a few local barrels of homemade wine! If you feel like having high quality wine at a low cost, this is the place to be. After wine tasting, you can buy the bottles. Not to mention a friendly staff to make you feel welcome. If you are here for just a wine glass we recommend trying the house made Touraine Rose or the Fronsac Chateau Puy Saint Vincent 1999; both under 5 Euros.

2. O Chateau

Bar O Chateau

This elegant wine bar is best known for its tasting sessions. You can book a wine tasting with dinner, lunch, or appetizers through their website. They also have private rooms for events. In these sessions a guide, called a sommelier, gives a basic lesson in wines, explains the selection offered, and educates people about the grapes in each wine. We highly recommend ordering a cheese platter to accompany your wine tasting list. Because of its popularity, O Chateau is now open for lunch in their bar where they have an awfully large selection of wine and champagne. You can even stay in the same chic neighborhood as this wine bar and many other upscale boutiques.

68 rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, 75001 Paris

3. Juveniles

o

Juveniles is considered by many to be a more family-oriented restaurant. However, because of its outstanding wine list, it has made it into our category of best wine bars! Most people who go end up buying bottles of wine to take home. If you are in town and believe that a great meal should be accompanied by great wine, this is the place to be. Our personal recommendation for lunch or dinner is ordering the Magret de canard grillé – Gratin dauphinois, accompanied by a glass of red wine.
