Exploring outdoor Paris in September

Summer is almost over, so spend these last few days of warmth by experiencing some of the best outside activities Paris can offer! Apart from museum visits and tours around the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph, there are many ways to enjoy your day in Paris. September calls for new and innovative ways to spend your vacation.

1. Water skiing on the Seine

Even though Paris is not a coastal city, it is so perfect, that it is even possible to water ski. Every year from the beginning of May to the end of October, the Seine opens up for water sports. If you feel like enjoying a breathtaking Parisian view and having a superb time while at it, water Skiing is definitely the best way to make it. 2. Go on a Pony Ride

What a better way to enjoy the Parisian gardens and weather than by pony back riding? Fun for everyone, specially when traveling with kids. You can try it out either in Parc des Buttes, Jardin due Luxembourg, Bois de Boulogne and Parc Monceau. Equestrian classes are even offered for those who plan to stay for a while. These rides usually start lasting from 15 min to 20 min. September is the last month to go riding, so don’t miss out!

3. Playing Petanque alongside the Canal de I’Ourcq

If you truly want to enjoy real French pastimes, playing petanque is the perfect way to do it. Petanque is a traditional French game were you throw or roll heavy balls (usually made of metal) with the purpose of them landing as close as possible to a target ball (small wooden ball). Locals and most French people gather alongside Canal-St-Martin and further down the Canal del’Ourcq to join or start their own game.

4. Rave in the Techno Parade

Happening this 19th of September, this techno festival is the second largest one in all of France. Tourists from all over the world go to Paris to enjoy of the music and the outdoor festivities. Over 300,000 people gather for 10 days to hear and dance of many infamous electronic DJ’s. 5. Enjoy a glass of rose in Mademoiselle Rose

Mademoiselle Rose has gained tremendous popularity with its floating terrace amongst the Seine.
