Location: 0.6 mile from center of town of St-Rémy-de-Provence (15 mm walk), 22 kms south of Avignon
This distinctive property is located less than a mile from the center of St-Rémy-de-Provence. A historic town with extensive Roman ruins, St-Rémy is among the region’s most picturesque and lively spots, with an array of shops, restaurants, cafés and a weekly open-air market not to be missed.
Dating from the 1920s, this single story stone property has been wonderfully renovated with no expense spared. It sits in a lovely garden with swimming pool, gravel courtyard and beautifully-landscaped beds with cypress, roses, oleander, rosemary, lavender and an array of flowering plants and shrubs. Adjacent to the house are two arbored dining areas with wrought-iron tables and chairs.
Inside, the house retains traditional Provençal charm and features painted beamed ceilings and a combination of old painted tile and stone floors. It is light and bright with large windows and white walls. The decor includes stylish contemporary furnishings accented by classic antique pieces, exceptional antique engravings and other original works of art. Combined with all comforts and conveniences including high speed internet access and air-conditioned bedrooms, it’s hard to beat!
French doors from the garden and pool lead to the open-plan living-dining room with kitchen. This appealing room includes a sitting area with large upholstered sofa and two period-style arm chairs grouped around a glass-topped wrought-iron coffee table by the stone fireplace. Asian rugs and tapestries are colorful accents. A wood-topped island separates the sitting area from the fully-equipped kitchen including professional quality stove, wood counters and cream-colored cabinets. This is a wonderful kitchen for cooks! Adjacent is the dining area with wood table for 6 people. French doors near the dining area open to another al fresco dining table on the side of the house.
There are a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all accessed from a corridor off the main living area or from a door off the terrace. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned, have queen beds and are furnished with lovely bedcovers, curtains and antique pieces. One of the bathrooms is ensuite and includes a shower, sink and toilet facilities. The other bathroom is on the hall and is very spacious with pretty travertine tilework. It features both shower and tub, double sinks and toilet facilities.
A home with grace, elegance and style within walking distance of a quintessential Provençal town.

Recommended by my cousin. We had a great and wonderful Trip. Thank you ! We enjoyed a dinner at Le Mas de l’Amarine around the corner from our house. We also loved the pizza at Pizza Bru in Maussane les Alpilles.

We wanted to take a special trip with my husband's parents, and the house made our trip very special indeed. I can't think of a better way to celebrate life than on the patio, soaking in the Provençal sunshine and enjoying the garden with a glass of rose in hand. We loved every day there, and were sad when a week had passed. The photos we had in advance were lovely, but the house exceeded our high expectations. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it was also a pleasure to live in, with every creature comfort provided.
