Location: near the village of Urval, 4 kms from Siorac, 10 kms from St-Cyprien

Set in the hills above the village of Urval, this old stone house couldn’t be more centrally located for exploring the Dordogne region. With its warm honey-colored stone facade, brown shutters and stone roof, it is built in quintessential Périgourdine style. The spacious grounds include a graveled courtyard, expansive lawns, an array of shrubs, rose bushes, tall trees and a cascading swimming pool. Adjacent to the house is a large covered terrace with garden views. There is another covered dining area by the pool with views over the rolling countryside.
Inside, the house has been beautifully renovated and boasts traditional architectural features including wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and terra cotta and wood floors. The décor combines both stylish contemporary furnishings with lovely antique pieces as well as all modern amenities including high speed internet access.
Entry is into a hallway with genuine pisé stone floor. Off the hallway is the country kitchen with antique breakfast table and chairs. This is a wonderful kitchen for cooks of all levels and is equipped with quality appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator and two stoves (8-burner cooktop, 2 ovens). And there are a full complement of cabinets, tile counters, all pots, pans, cutlery and dishes. A door from the kitchen opens to the covered terrace with its outdoor dining table and garden views.
A door from the kitchen also leads to the open-plan living-dining room. This is a gracious room exuding great atmosphere with its dark wood-beamed ceiling and exposed stone walls. At the far end is a comfortable sitting area with upholstered sofas, armchairs and occasional tables. Behind is the dining area with long antique wood dining table and upholstered chairs for 8 people. French doors open to the terraces and grounds. Also on this level is a small den with wood-burning stove and additional seating.
The main house includes 3 bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are all nicely decorated with pretty bedcovers, curtains, bedside tables, lamps, chests and other antique pieces. The bathrooms have white-tiled tubs or showers, sinks and toilet facilities. One of the bedroom suites is on the main living level off the main hallway and has a double bed and bathroom with shower. Also on the main living level is a guest bathroom with tub, sink and toilet facilities.
Stairs from the hallway go up to two spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and bathroom with separate tub and shower, double sinks and toilet. The second bedroom has a queen bed and bathroom with tub and shower attachment, sink and toilet. Both of these bedrooms have views on the garden.
Opposite the main house is a guest cottage with small sitting area, bedroom with double bed and bathroom with shower.
