Dordogne, often referred to by its historic name “The Périgord”, offers one of the most gorgeous unspoiled countryside in France. With its majestic Chateaux, its medieval villages and its famous prehistoric caves, its heritage is well preserved and you will be fascinated by so much authenticity and history. Upon being delighted by its renowned culinary traditions and enjoying various cultural and sporting activities, your visit will be really unforgettable.
Just a short walk to a typical auberge serving local cuisine, you will find cafés, shops and restaurants in the medieval town of Souillac nearby. In the area, you can visit Rocamadour, a spectacular natural and religious site perched high on a rocky plateau and France’s second most visited tourist attraction (after Le Mont St-Michel). The world famous caves with ancient wall paintings and astounding rock formations by an underwater boat ride, would make a memorable holiday experience for all ages. Only a short drive to the Dordogne River you will be able to enjoy outdoors water sports such as canoeing and swimming.
Set in a large lawn of fruit trees and flowers and beside an old church, the lovely old-stone villa has some typical Perigordian features such as flagstone floors, wooden beams, and exposed stone walls. The delightful property has been renovated yet its classic charm and character has been beautifully preserved. Meanwhile the heated pool and air conditioning in most bedrooms add modernity and convenience to make your stay even more comfortable.
The entrance opens to a spacious living dining area with wood beamed ceiling, exposed stone walls and exquisitely embellished. The sitting room includes a large comfortable red sofa and a couple of chairs grouped around the open fireplace, and the dining area has a massive wooden table and six antique chairs arranged around. Adjacent is the well-equipped country kitchen where you will be able to cook all your favorite dishes. A charming bedroom with a queen size bed and air-conditioning, a separate shower room and a toilet complete that floor.
Up the stairs are three more bedrooms all gracefully decorated and furnished. Two attractive suites have a king size bed (that can be easily convert to two twins), air-conditioning and a modern shower room with a toilet. The last bedroom has a single bed and next to it, are a separate shower room and a toilet.
A welcoming Dordogne country house to enjoy the wonderful area.
