Set amidst oaks and pines, the Mas de L’Isle sur la Sorgue is ideally located near L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a charming town renowned for its Sunday food and antique market. The park-like grounds, illuminated at night, feature oaks and pines, lavender, roses and other native plants and shrubs. Below the house is a lovely tiled swimming pool with covered dining area and barbecue, along with shower and toilet facilities. Adjacent to the house is another covered terrace with additional barbecue and dining table.
Designed and built by its architect-owner, this classic mas has been decorated and furnished with no expense spared. It features all comforts and conveniences including full air conditioning and central heating. The highest quality building materials include travertine marble-tiled baths and terra cotta tile floors. No detail has been overlooked, from decorative molding to traditional stone casements and wood shutters surrounding the windows to the antique closet doors. Stylish modern furnishings, antique wood pieces and many works of original art combine to make this a gracious home in the best Provençal tradition.
An entry hall leads to a spacious living-dining room with 18th-century carved wood fireplace. It is light and bright with cream-colored walls, large arched windows and French doors opening to the terrace and grounds. Two tan leather sofas and period chairs grouped around an antique wood coffee table make an inviting seating group. The room is accented by antique wood chests, occasional tables and lamps and colorful fabrics.
Behind is the dining area with pretty antique wood table for 10 people. A granite counter separates the dining area from the kitchen, equipped with every convenience. It features sunny yellow cabinets with hand-painted friezes and pale yellow walls. From here French doors open to the covered dining terrace with marble-topped wrought iron table and barbecue.
Four well-appointed bedrooms accommodate 8 people. They all feature lovely bedcovers, antique chests and tables and striking works of original art. A door from the living room leads to a spacious king suite with full bathroom. Bay windows open to a private terrace with café table and chairs. Stairs from the entry hall lead to 3 more bedrooms. One is a king suite with full bathroom.. The other two bedrooms have queen beds and share a large bathroom with shower. All of the bathrooms have beautiful travertine marble tilework, double sinks and toilet facilities.
Beside the pool is the mazet, an independent accommodation for two people, also fully air conditioned and heated. It has been designed, furnished and decorated in the same style as the main house.
From French doors to the pool terrace, entry is into a small sitting room with round wood dining table and kitchenette. Also on this level is the bathroom with travertine marble shower, sink and toilet facilities. The bathroom can also be accessed from outside and provides poolside facilities. A wooden staircase from the sitting area leads to a sleeping mezzanine with beamed ceiling, hardwood floor and queen bed. From the mezzanine window, there are terrific views of the Luberon.
A Provençal country home of the highest quality in a prime location near a celebrated town.

The Mas de L'Isle sur la Sorgue was wonderful. The description on your website was absolutely accurate. Everything about the house and grounds was lovely and the caretaker whom we dealt with there was friendly and helpful.
