Location: 3 kms west of Maussane, 15 kms east of Arles, 12 kms south of St-Rémy-de-Provence, 35 kms south of Avignon

At the foot of the majestic Alpilles mountains, this stone-walled farmhouse is located near the village of Paradou, boasting an award-winning bistro. Down the road is Maussane, a delightful village with plane-tree shaded square, shops, restaurants and a weekly open-air market. Also nearby is the medieval fortress of les Baux, one of the premier sights of the region.
The farmhouse has its origins in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is set in a two-acre park including large natural lawns and an array of trees including olive, fruit, cypress and Mediterranean pines. Adjacent to the house is a spacious covered terrace with teak dining table and chairs. Nearby is the pool with ample lounging furniture. These are ideal for relaxing and al fresco meals.
Fully renovated, the house is built largely on a single story and has retained traditional architectural features including heavy wood beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces and terra cotta tile floors. The stylish décor combines contemporary comfort with French country charm. And the house is equipped with all comforts and conveniences including screened windows.
To the right of the entry way is the living room with beige upholstered sofas grouped around an antique glass-topped wood coffee table. With high cathedral ceiling and mezzanine loft, the room is light, open and airy. On the other side of the entry, a doorway leads to a lovely dining room with colorful painted wood beams and glass-topped wood table and chairs. Adjacent is an informal sitting area with easy chairs and ottoman in front of the fireplace and an upholstered sofa in the corner. Large picture windows overlook the covered terrace and pool.
Beyond the dining area is the kitchen with adjoining breakfast room. With colorful ceramic tilework and painted wood cabinets, the kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances. And there is a pantry with a second refrigerator. A large window in the kitchen overlooks the pool and French doors from the breakfast area open to the pool and terrace.
There are a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. All the bedrooms are attractively decorated with pretty bedcovers curtains, chests and tables. The bathrooms are nicely tiled and feature quality fixtures and ceramics. Off the living room, a corridor leads to a large master bedroom with queen bed and French doors opening to the grounds and pool. This room has great charm with exposed stone walls and massive wood beamed ceiling. Adjacent is a bathroom area. There is a bathroom with double sinks and an American-style tub with shower. Also in this area are a separate shower and separate toilet facilities.
A corridor off the dining room leads to two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twins. These bedrooms share a full bathroom with double sinks, tub with shower and toilet. The fourth bedroom is a loft (best for children) with three single beds above the living room accessed by a staircase. There are additional toilet facilities on the ground level by the entry.
