On the banks of the beautiful Dordogne River and overlooking the emblematic Siorac Bridge, this 17th Century fascinating villa is close to the shops, cafés, and restaurants of the village of Siorac and only a short drive to Sarlat, a renowned and beautifully preserved medieval town. This historic property, which served as the toll-post for the ferry (crossing the river) before the construction of the Siorac Bridge, has been exquisitely restored, blending modern living while fully preserving its authentic charm and character. And to add a touch of authentic French charm, four trains a day chug along a close-by track. With typical low beamed ceilings, authentic hardwood floors and exposed stone walls, the exceptional mansion can accommodate up to 8 people in four appealing bedrooms. The entrance opens to a spacious living area with hardwood floors, exposed stone walls and beamed ceiling. With a magnificent old stone fireplace and comfy sofas on one side, and a large wooden dining table that seats 8 comfortably on the other, the great room has a charming and authentic atmosphere. The gorgeous country kitchen with spectacular views of the River and two French doors leading outside, is well-equipped with modern appliances, ample cooking surfaces and a round table with several chairs. A cozy TV room and an ensuite bedroom with a shower, a sink and a toilet complete this floor.
Up, the stairs lead to a relaxed library/ reading area and three more bedrooms, all beautifully decorated with exquisite fabrics and original décor, and with fantastic views of the River. The master suite has a king size bed and a splendid bathroom with a Jacuzzi, a walk-in multiple-jet shower, 2 sinks and a toilet. Two lovely bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other one with a single bed (with additional pull-out bed) will share a modern shower room and a separate toilet.
