Location: A short drive to Belvès (small supermarket, restaurants, bakers, shops etc) Close to Siorac (supermarket, cash point, bakers, shops, cafés & restaurants).
This property is based in the Dordogne (often referred to by its ancient name “The Périgord”). Although times may have changed over the years the beautiful Dordogne landscape, in one of the most beautiful areas of France, continues to offer something to amaze and delight everyone. This ancient land, deep in the heart of sunny south-west France, is perfect holiday country; a magical place that will reward all those who choose to explore it.
A spacious old stone property privately situated at the end of its own lane and just a short drive from the mediaeval village of Belvès which offers a good choice of shops and restaurants. Belvès has earned the accolade “Un Des Plus Beaux Villages de France” and is perched high on a hill overlooking the Nauze valley. Its central covered market square – Place d’Armes – dates from the 15th Century.
On arriving via the leafy lane one enters into a gravelled courtyard with additional covered parking area. The property is surrounded by a small lawned garden with private pool located at the rear and a large grassy badminton court to the side.
A flight of stone steps leads up to the front covered terrace and the entrance door which accesses a large open plan sitting/kitchen/dining room. The sitting area has comfortable leather sofas grouped around the fireplace and the dining area has a large dining table, high backed leather chairs and book case. Vertical beams separate the sitting/dining area from the well equipped kitchen with breakfast table and chairs with side bench, and this entire open plan room has wood parquet flooring, light rendered walls and exposed beams.
At the end of the kitchen a door leads out to a large covered terrace with barbecue, small drinks’ fridge and dining table and chairs. The terrace overlooks the countryside at the rear and the pool to the side. Stone steps lead down from the terrace to the fenced pool area which is bordered by a high hedge. PLEASE NOTE: This terrace does not have a ballustrade making this property unsuitable for children under 15 years of age or the elderly.
Also on the upper level is a very light and airy double bedroom with parquet floor.
Stairs lead down from the dining area to the lower level which is very cool in summer. The lower level has tiled floors and and exposed beams and offers a large master bedroom with door leading out to the pool, a family bathroom (with bath/shower, bidet, basin and WC), a twin bedroom with second bathroom alongside (also with bath/shower, bidet, basin and WC) and a laundry room.
All in all a very privately located property within easy reach of all the lovely sites this region has to offer.
