Manaurie is an old hamlet just outside of les Eyzies, France’s center of prehistory. Set on a hillside in Manaurie, this property boasts lovely country views over the valley and up to the chateau of Manaurie. The grounds feature a pretty swimming pool below the house surrounded by landscaped beds of lavender and flowers. Adjacent to the house is a large covered terrace with wood dining table and chairs as well as a conversation area with rattan chairs and low tables. You’ll enjoy the views from both the pool and the terrace.
Built with quality materials, the house features massive wood beamed ceilings, beautiful honey-colored exposed stone walls and both terra cotta tile and wood floors. The decor includes casual contemporary furnishings with antique accents and all modern appliances, fine fixtures and conveniences.
Entry is into the spacious dining room with pale yellow walls and antique wood table and chairs for 6 people. On the wall is a striking painting, the work of a local artist. A tile-topped counter separates the dining room from the well-equipped kitchen with sea green walls, evergreen counters and cream-colored wood cabinets. From the kitchen, a door opens to the covered front terrace.
From the dining room, a stone arch opens to the living room with cathedral beamed ceiling. Open, light and airy, the room has two sets of French doors opening to the front covered terrace and two more sets of doors opening to a rear gravel terrace. Two upholstered sofas and easy chairs grouped near the decorative fireplace offer plenty of comfortable seating. Asian carpets, occasional tables and lamps complete this inviting room.
There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Stairs from the back of the living room lead to a landing and two bedroom suites. One has a queen bed and full bathroom; the other a double bed and full bathroom. Downstairs off the dining room is the third bedroom with twin beds and adjacent a full bathroom with shower. All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with pastel walls, pretty bedcovers and curtains. The bathrooms have lovely ceramic tilework with painted frieze trims.
