Dordogne, often referred by its historic name “The Périgord”, offers one of the most gorgeous unspoiled countryside in France. With its majestic Chateaux, its medieval villages and its famous prehistoric caves, its heritage and authenticity are genuinely preserved. You will feel like stepping in Renaissance history. The area boasts France’s beloved gastronomic delights such as Foie Gras and locally produced wine, all can be savored locally for your visit to be unforgettable.
Just a short walk down the road, the pretty village of Saussignac has a restaurant, a bakery and a post office. The area has numerous preserved medieval villages from the Roman times, such as Issigeac or Eymet where the evening markets, in the summertime, are worth a visit. The fabulous Chateau of Monbazillac, is nearby and it’s an opportunity to taste their famous wine. Only a short drive to the Dordogne River you will enjoy outdoors water sports such as canoeing and swimming.
Settled in 20 acres of vineyards with far reaching views, the old farmhouse has been beautifully restored with no expense spared and tastefully decorated with traditional architectural features and an array of authentic furniture to keep a warm and cozy atmosphere while providing high-end amenities. With typical low beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, exposed stone walls, paintings and tapestries, the French country house is a very attractive and comfy villa. All the building materials, appliances and fixtures are of the highest quality yet preserving all its authentic charm.
A gorgeous heated infinity pool and a convenient covered terrace, both with stunning views of the vineyards, will assure you a fantastic stay.
The entrance opens to the large living room, where exposed stone walls, comfy classic sofas and a fireplace with a wood burner, create a relaxed and charming ambience. The spacious gourmet kitchen has a dining area with a rustic solid wood table that seats six and a well-equipped area with modern appliances creating a great space for preparing all your favorites meals.
All three bedrooms are exquisitely furnished and embellished. The Master bedroom, on the ground floor, has a magnificent wood-carved canopy king size bed, a matching Vanity and a newly redone bathroom with a corner bath tub. The second ensuite bedroom has two lavish twin beds and an updated shower room. A private den, with a small living area and a daybed/sofa (for the 7th person), and an adjacent bathroom, with a bath tub and a toilet, complete this floor. Up the stairs, the third bedroom has an elegant canopy queen size bed, a dressing room and overlooked the dazzling country views though balcony windows.
Situated next to the Farmhouse, an adorable independent Cottage, has an open living area with two French doors accessible directly to the outdoor dining terrace and a separate en-suite bedroom with a queen size bed and toilet facilities. It can be rented upon request and at additional charge during the summer season.
A large and comfortable property ideal for a family holiday, close to a lively market town and central to the sights throughout Dordogne.
