St-Germain-des-Prés is among Paris’ most historic and stylish neighborhoods. The celebrated church for which the area is named is just a block away. And the renowned cafés, restaurants, open-air markets and boutiques are all easy walks. On the rue du Dragon, the bakery is just outside your door, and just steps away are the Monoprix, casual restaurants, excellent food shopping and designer goods.
Our apartment is set back from the street on a courtyard overlooking trees and flowers. By Paris standards, it is exceptionally quiet. Large windows and pale gray walls make the apartment light and bright. It is on the 3rd floor (see note below) with stair access.
It also has all modern conveniences including cable television, high speed internet access and free telephone service to landlines in 15 countries including the United States, Canada, and Australia. Calls to landlines within France and to other designated European countries are also free.
Entry is into the main room with wood beamed ceiling. The sitting and dining areas are open-plan to the kitchen. The upholstered sofa accented with colorful throw pillows is a day bed with trundle below to accommodate 1-2 people. By the window is a pine drop-leaf dining table with 4 chairs. A bar separates the well-designed galley kitchen with combination convection-microwave oven, full refrigerator and four-burner cooktop. It has a full supply of dishes, glasses, cutlery and cookware, and good preparation space.
A door from the main room opens to the bedroom with queen bed overlooking trees in the courtyard below. It is decorated with a pretty bedcover and has side tables and a white wood chest. A large closet adjacent provides ample wardrobe space. The bathroom with white-tiled shower and sink is ensuite with the bedroom, and there are separate toilet facilities off the main room.
