The Marais is one of the most lively and historic areas of Paris. In its heart is the Place des Vosges, the city’s oldest arcaded square. Built by King Henry IV in the early 17th century, it was known as the Place Royale and was the center of elegance and festivities. Today, the square and the surrounding neighborhood are still bustling with exquisite food shops, open-air markets, cafés, restaurants, galleries and boutiques. The Beaubourg Museum, les Halles, Paris’ elegant Hôtel de Ville (city hall), as well as the banks of the Seine are all within easy reach.

This one-bedroom apartment has been recently renovated. It is on the third floor of a classic building with stair access. It is light and bright with tall windows and pastel walls. Its classic decor finds its inspiration in the French Baroque style and features a combination of period and contemporary furnishings as well as all modern comforts and conveniences.

Entrance is into a small hallway with a door to the fully-equipped galley kitchen. Also off this hall is a full bathroom with the highest quality fixtures and marble mosaic tile floor. The large walk-in shower has white-tiled walls.

The hall opens into the living-dining room featuring pale gray walls, original molding and a marble fireplace. It is attractively furnished with period pieces including an overstuffed sofa, two chairs, a small coffee table and Persian rugs. Behind the sitting area is a cozy dining corner with wood dining table and upholstered chairs seating 3 people. From the living room a door opens into the bedroom with blue-gray walls, a queen-size poster bed and lovely wood armoire.

An apartment with traditional Parisian style and flair in a lively and historic neighborhood.
