Rue Vauquelin is located in the heart of a popular Left Bank neighborhood. Just steps away is the rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest market streets in Paris. Limited to pedestrians, it is well-known for its lively restaurants, shops and open-air market. The Luxembourg Gardens where Parisians come to stroll, jog, play with their children or just relax with a good book, is a short stroll.
Also within short walking distance are the Panthéon - the resting place of French statesman and scholars - along with a range of neighborhood cafés, restaurants, markets and shops. And the historic sights, museums and animated streets of the Latin Quarter and St-Germain-des-Prés are within easy reach.
This 2-bedroom apartment is located on the sixth (top) floor of a late-19th-century building with elevator access to the 5th floor (see note below). From here, one flight of stairs leads up to the apartment. Spacious by Paris standards, the apartment is light and bright with large windows, white walls and hardwood floors.
Unique to the apartment are five sets of French doors opening to balconies overlooking rooftops and other historic buildings. Café furniture, including a round table and chairs, is provided so you can enjoy outdoor meals and admire the city views. Totally renovated, the apartment features a combination of contemporary furnishings and warm wood antique pieces. And for your comfort in warmer months, there is air conditioning in the living area and master bedroom.
Entry is into the spacious L-shaped living-dining room with two comfortable sitting areas and French doors opening to the balconies. At the far end, a brown upholstered love seat and chair are grouped by the fireplace. Between the balcony doors are a built-in desk area and television cabinet. At the other end is another seating group with upholstered sofa, chair and coffee table. Antique tables, colorful carpets and original art pieces accent this handsome room. Behind is the dining area with an antique wood table and chairs for 4 people. A counter-topped cabinet separates the living and dining areas from the kitchen with white cabinets, marble counters and all appliances.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, all accessed off the entry corridor. The bedrooms are quiet with windows overlooking an interior courtyard. Both are decorated with pretty bedcovers and have ample wardrobe space. The bathrooms have carrera marble tile and are equipped with a shower, sink and toilet facilities. One of the showers is also a steam room. At the end of the corridor is the master bedroom with queen bed, flat-screen television and an air conditioning unit. The second bedroom is smaller and has a double bed.
The apartment features cable television, high speed internet access and free telephone service to landlines in many countries including the United States, Canada and Australia. Calls to landlines within France and to other designated European countries are also free.
A home with special character and style in a lively Parisian neighborhood.
