The rue de Bièvre is a small, ancient and charming street of centuries-old stone townhouses, that lies between the boulevard St-Germain and the quays of the Seine. The Ile de la Cité, with Notre Dame Cathedral, the Ile St-Louis, with it’s charming shops and restaurants, and the bustling Latin Quarter are your immediate neighbors- all just a 5 minutes stroll away. At the head of the rue is the Place Maubert where you'll find an encompassing variety of shops and a thrice weekly open-air market on alternating days. The charms of central Paris... from the 1st to the 6th districts (arrondissements) with their museums, historic sights and colorful neighborhoods are within an easy walking distance.
Set on the second floor (see note below) of an historic, listed building dating from the 17th century, this light filled and spacious apartment boasts elevator access and a view over a serene courtyard garden. The apartment has been very nicely renovated and decorated to retain traditional architectural features such as wood beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and tall Parisian windows while offering modern conveniences including Wi-Fi internet access and enhanced phone service. The décor includes antique and period furnishings accented with abundant wall art and antique rugs.
Entry is into a light filled ‘L’ shaped open-plan living-dining room. The dining area is outfitted with a classic round wood table and four upholstered chairs. In the sitting area are an upholstered sofa, television, antique tables and a antique table-desk with armchair. Two large windows overlook the quiet street and a walled garden courtyard. To the left of the entry, down a short corridor, is the well-equipped and highly functional kitchen with ceramic tile work, granite counters and state of the art appliances.
The bedroom, with a queen four poster bed, antique armoire and commodes, is set off by pale yellow walls and two windows facing a small and quiet private courtyard. The adjacent bathroom has a tiled shower and sink. Toilet facilities are separate and found on the corridor just off the living-dining area.
A very attractive apartment in a highly-central Left Bank location.

"We loved the apartment, the location - everything about it. We could not have been happier with the choice."

"The apartment was the 'icing on the cake' to our beautiiful Paris experience. Very close to everything, the Métro, the Rail, bus, etc., but just far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the place. The only sound that got through the windows was the sweet chime of the bells of Notre Dame. The apartment itself was most comfortable and very well equipped. We would go back there in a flash!"
