The Alpilles region – with majestic rock formations and charming towns and villages – is among the most popular in Provence. Here you'll enjoy visiting St-Rémy-de-Provence, a quintessential Provençal town with a historic town center and full range of shops, restaurants, cafés and a lively open-air market. Nearby are Eygalières, Maussane and the medieval fortress of les Baux. Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and all the sights of Provence are within easy driving distance.

Set in 4-acre grounds, this spacious home is a short drive (and a pleasant walk) to the charming village of Eygalières with cafés, bakeries, grocers, restaurants (including a Michelin-starred establishment) and an open-air market every Friday. The grounds feature expansive lawns, Mediterranean pine, cypress, fruit and olive trees, an array of flowering plants and shrubs as well as beautifully landscaped beds.

Set away from the house and surrounded by a hedge-bordered fence is a lovely swimming pool with stone terrace. To one side of the house is a large covered outdoor dining room with long wrought iron dining table and chairs. The room includes a well-equipped summer kitchen with sink, microwave, electric oven and ample counter space. And it opens to additional terraces adjacent to the house with more outdoor dining and lounging furniture. From the terraces and the pool, you'll enjoy views of the beautiful grounds and the magnificent Alpilles mountains.

Inside, you'll find a gracious home built and decorated in fine Provençal tradition. The rooms are light and bright and feature terra cotta and marble floors, large arching windows and cream-colored walls. Classic furnishings are combined with selected antique pieces accented by colorful fabrics and carpets. For your comfort and convenience, the house is equipped with satellite television, high-speed internet access and air-conditioned bedrooms.

An archway from the entry hall opens to the spacious living-dining room. Open and airy, it features several sets of French doors opening to the grounds and beautiful views onto the garden and mountains. In the sitting area, an upholstered sofa, loveseat and several easy chairs are grouped around a coffee table in front of the stone fireplace. Behind is the dining area with wood farm table and chairs for 10 people. Occasional tables, lamps, colorful curtains and carpets accent this appealing room.

Also off the entry is the country kitchen with an oval wood breakfast table in the center. It is fully equipped and features sea-green-tiled counters, ample cabinets and all appliances. A large window and French door open to the outdoor dining terraces and exceptional views. Also on this level is a laundry room with shower and toilet facilities.

There are a total of 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, four of which are ensuite. The bedrooms are all nicely decorated with antique pieces as well as pretty curtains, lovely bedcovers, bedside lamps, tables and ample wardrobe space. And they all include air conditioning units to ensure comfort during the summer months. The bathrooms feature quality ceramic tilework and fixtures.

On the ground floor to the right of the entry is a bedroom suite with twin beds and full bathroom with shower. French doors open to the garden. Stairs from the entry lead to two more bedroom suites. One has a double bed and full bathroom with shower. The other suite is particularly spacious and features a king bed and large bathroom with double sinks, separate bathtub and shower. Off this suite is a private terrace with a table, chairs and pretty garden views.

A covered walkway from the main house goes to a separate wing with two more bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One is a king-bedded suite with French doors to the garden. It includes a full bathroom with American style tub-shower. The other is a queen bedroom. Its full private bathroom with shower is just across the hall.
