Location: in Peypin d'Aigues, 15 kms north of Pertuis, 40 kms north of Aix-en-Provence

Set in the village of Peypin d'Aigues, this 18th-century stone house with red wood shutters faces the Luberon mountains and overlooks vineyards, olive groves, sunflower and lavender fields. In the village, you'll find a café where you can pick up fresh bread and croissants in the morning. And nearby are Lourmarin, Ansouis and other charming villages and towns with shops, restaurants, open-air markets and all services.

The old stone cottage has been totally renovated and combines traditional Provençal decor and furnishings with all comfort and conveniences including high-speed internet access and air conditioned bedrooms. The property is also equipped with free telephone service to many countries including the United States, Canada, and Australia. Calls to landlines within France and to other designated European countries are also free.

On the ground level is an open-plan living-dining room with several large windows, beamed ceilings and ceramic tile floors. In the sitting area, a brown leather sofa and easy chair are grouped around a small wood coffee table in front of the fireplace. Behind is the dining area with wood table for 6 people. This pleasant room is accented by an antique chest and buffet as well as colorful curtains and pillows. Off the entry to the right is the well-equipped kitchen with tile counters, dark wood cabinets and a small breakfast table. Also on this level are a laundry room and full bathroom.

A solid wood spiral staircase leads up to a landing and to 2 attractive bedrooms, one with ensuite bath. For your comfort in warmer months, the bedrooms are air conditioned. They feature wood floors, quality bedding, colorful quilts and antique wood chests and armoires. Another door off the landing opens to a rooftop terrace with outdoor dining furniture.

A sweet village house in the Luberon countryside.

"We had a wonderful stay at Maison Akette. The house was great - comfortable and well equipped. Even better than we expected from your description."
