Location: in the village of Limeuil, (bread delivery, café, restaurant), 7 kms from Le Bugue, (supermarkets, banks, shops, restaurants)
This stone house is located in the upper part of the medieval village of Limeuil, classified as one of France's Plus Beaux Villages. The village is set at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, one of the most scenic spots in the region. Be sure to stroll its charming stone streets lined with centuries-old houses. Enjoy an aperitif or casual meal at the riverside café, rent a canoe, or cool off with a swim in the river. Larger towns and villages are all within easy driving distance as are the prehistoric caves and other sights of the region.
Set on three levels on a hillside, the house includes a sweet stone terrace and natural garden with flowering plants and shrubs on the lower level. It is well renovated with wood floors and exposed stone accent walls. Comfortable contemporary furnishings highlight antique wood pieces.
Entry from the street level is into the dining room with white wood table and chairs for 4 people. An antique clock and wood occasional tables complement the room. A low-wall partition separates the dining room from the galley kitchen with a stone vaulted window on the narrow village street.
A door from the dining room leads to the sitting room with tan upholstered sofa and two armchairs grouped around a low ottoman Both the sitting and dining rooms have windows on country views.
There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. A bedroom with double bed is downstairs along with the bathroom with shower and sink. Stairs from the sitting room lead to the second bedroom with twin beds. Toilet facilities are separate on the main living level.
A historic home base in the heart of a Perigourdine village.
