Location: 2.5 kms from Noves, 10 kms from St-Rémy-de-Provence, 15 kms southeast of Avignon

This 19th-century mas couldn't be more evocative of the Provençal way of life. Sheltered by two 90-year-old plane trees (les platanes), the house and graveled courtyard enjoy natural shade at most times of the day. And it is located within short driving distance of one of the most picturesque towns in Provence - St-Rémy with its historic monuments, shops, restaurants, cafés, and bustling weekly open-air market.
The old farm house has been well renovated in the best Provençal tradition with stone and stucco facade and dark wood shutters. Set in grounds of over three acres, it features plenty of outdoor lounging and dining space. Take your pick: there's a shaded graveled courtyard and terrace with canopy-covered teak dining table and chairs in front of the house, a lovely swimming pool with summer salon and kitchen to the side, or the spacious lawn with a variety of flowering shrubs and trees beyond the courtyard.

Inside, the house features pastel walls and both ceramic tile and wood floors. It has been nicely decorated with casual, contemporary furnishings and antique accents. Entry is into the country kitchen with cream-colored tile counters, matching cream and wood-trimmed cabinets, all appliances and conveniences. In the center is an oval wood dining table. It has several leaves to extend and accommodate 10 people. A door opens to the living room with two overstuffed tan upholstered sofas grouped around a wood coffee table. A wrought-iron console table, lamps and a rattan side table complete this comfortable room. French doors open to the tree-shaded terrace and the grounds.

There are a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. All of the bedrooms are equipped with screened windows and are attractively decorated in pastel shades with lovely bed linens and curtains, chests or armoires. On the ground level are a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with shower and sink on the hall. Separate toilet facilities are adjacent.

Stairs lead to 4 more bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, all with beautiful travertine marble tilework. One is a bedroom suite with twin beds and a full bathroom with toilet. Two have double beds and ensuite bathrooms with shower and sink. There is another bedroom with bunk beds. Separate toilet facilities on the hall serve the double and bunk bedrooms. An air conditioning unit on the upstairs level keeps the bedrooms cool in the summer months.

A very comfortable home in the heart of Provence, and an excellent value!

*Note: the owners live in an adjacent house and the pool is shared with them. They are charming people and are happy to assist you as they can. They also fully respect your privacy and are not intrusive in any way.
