Season Group 1
Location: 2.5 kms from Gonfaron, 24 kms northeast of Brignoles, 80 kms southeast of Aix-en-Provence, 45 kms west of St-Tropez

The Var region in eastern Provence provides a picturesque setting for les Cypres. The Var is well located between the heart of Provence and the Côte d’Azur, a perfect home base for day trips to Aix-en-Provence as well as the beaches of St-Tropez, Nice and Cannes.
And the Var itself, a less touristed area full of scenic countryside and charming villages, awaits you. Lorgues, Cotignac and Aups to mention just three, boast brightly colored houses, typical fountains and weekly open air markets. Among the most renowned sights is the Abbaye de Thoronet, a former Cistercian abbey built in the late twelfth and early thirteenth century. And for sporting enthusiasts, there are a variety of outdoor recreational activities from fishing and kayaking to cycling and golfing.

Surrounded by Côte de Provence vineyards, this stone property dates from Napoleon's time and is nestled at the foot of the Massif des Maures mountains and forest. It's a short drive to a sweet village with bakeries, shops, grocers, supermarket and weekly open-air market. The property features a spacious and beautifully landscaped garden with pretty swimming pool, elegant fountain, terraces, lawn, flowering plants, shrubs and an array of trees including olive, cork oak, cedar, fig and cypress, for which the house is named. You’ll find no better spot for enjoying peaceful country views and leisurely al fresco meals.

Inside, the historic house has been beautifully renovated with great style and flair using the highest-quality building materials. Classic architectural features include heavy wood-beamed ceilings, original terra cotta floors and exposed stone walls. The décor combines French country furnishings, antique-style pieces and exceptional Persian carpets. For your convenience, there are top-of-the-line appliances, satellite television and high-speed internet access.

On the ground floor, the entry hall opens to the living-dining room and to the kitchen. In the living room, a comfortable seating group, including an overstuffed sofa and easy chairs, is grouped by a wood coffee table by the stone fireplace. Warm wood pieces, occasional tables and lamps complete this appealing room. Adjacent is the dining area with oval dining table (expandable) and chairs for 6 people. French doors from the dining area open to the outdoor dining terrace.

A door from the living room leads to the kitchen with windows overlooking the vineyards. It is fully equipped with all appliances, painted wood cabinets and a full complement of cookware, utensils, dishes and glasses. And there is a round breakfast table in the center. Also on this level are toilet facilities.

There are a total of 3 bedroom suites, each with full bathroom. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and feature quality bedding, light-weight duvets, lovely linens, wood chests, armoires and tables. For your comfort and convenience, the windows are fitted with screens. The bathrooms include fine ceramic tilework and quality fixtures.

Stairs from the entry lead to two large queen-bedded suites including full bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet. One overlooks the pool and the Massif des Maures countryside; the other has views over the vineyards. Also on this level is a small study with single bed, desk, bookcase and wardrobe.

Adjacent at the other end of the house and accessed by a separate entry is the third bedroom suite with queen bed and full bathroom with shower. This room, overlooking the garden and vineyards, is particularly suited to those who require more privacy and has its own television and outdoor patio.

A special home in a wonderful country setting close to Mediterranean beaches, charming villages, famed cities and sights.
