Location: 2 km from le Bugue, with all shops and services
Located on the banks of the Vézère River, le Bugue is an animated town with a busy open-air market every Tuesday morning and a full range of shops, supermarkets, banks, cafés and restaurants. From here, all the sights and charming villages of the Dordogne region are easy day trips.
Set high on a hill behind le Bugue, this modern home has extensive views over the town and countryside. Along the front of the house is a large terrace with open and covered areas and a teak dining table for 8 people. The grounds also include a natural garden with grass and shrubs, and just below the house, a pretty swimming pool, perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the lovely views.
Built on a single story, the house is well designed and tastefully decorated. There are terra cotta tile floors, colorful fabrics and a combination of quality contemporary and antique furnishings.
Entry is into the spacious living room with rust-colored upholstered sofa and several easy chairs grouped around a white wood coffee table in front of the fireplace. Antique armoires accent this appealing room. An archway from the sitting room leads to the inviting French country kitchen and dining area with deep red walls. The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a professional-level stove, butcher block counters and pine cabinets. Opposite is a rectangular pine dining table for 6 people.
French doors from both of these rooms open to the terraces.
There are a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms are decorated with colorful bedlinens, curtains, bedside tables and good wardrobe space. The bathrooms have quality ceramic fixtures and tilework. To the left of the entry is a bedroom with twin beds and ensuite bath. Down a corridor are a large bathroom with double sinks and 2 more bedrooms with country views and French doors to the terrace. One has twin beds, and the other is a double with wrought-iron four-poster bed.
A delightful home, close to a lively market town and central to the sights throughout Dordogne.
